While Sarah, Nish and I were traveling in Bali, Indonesia, we really wanted to experience the culture and beauty of Bali and not just do the “touristy thing”. So our driver told us there was a Full Moon Ceremony where each villager prepares a huge feast and then they attach the feast to a gorgeous golden dish that the women balance on their heads and then walk to where the Full Moon Ceremony takes place. We were in the middle of the rainforest and there were hundreds of people praying, in the rain and making food offerings to the gods. We joined their prayer ceremony and they did not seem to mind that we were complete strangers that had joined their village celebration. It was so surreal!
